Dr. Joe: Hi, this is Dr. Joe from Clearlake Dermatology. I just wanted to go over some summer skincare tips.

Dr. Joe: Of course, May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month, so definitely a good time to look yourself over for any suspicious lesions and suspicious moles. Definitely go in to a dermatologist if you have anything that you see at home that doesn't look quite right.

Dr. Joe: We look for the ABCDs of moles. A stands for asymmetry, B stands for borders, C stands for color, and D stands for diameter. Another letter, E, is something that people don't really talk about as much, but it's actually very important, is for evolving, or moles that are changing. If any of your moles look strange by those criteria, then definitely give your dermatologist a call, and go in to see your dermatologist right away.
